Having cut his teeth on the influential Dream FM Leeds pirate station, Shock has amassed an enviable collection of Jungle records from the early days of the genre’s development.
Always keeping one step ahead of the other DJs on the block, Shock’s infectious character and desire to bring the music from the streets to the masses lead to the creation of his own pirate station ‘Frequency FM’.
This infamous station enlightened the city and leant itself well to the vibrant party scene the which continues to develop in the area. Many now very influential dance music DJs began their careers from being on this very station, which delivered unrivalled underground content for over a decade. Residencies at Jungle Jam, Metropolis and SubDub soon followed, where Shock flied the flag for the genuine vinyl sound at every event.
This legacy continues today in Shock’s DJ sets, where you’d be hard pressed to identify some of the tracks that get dropped and getting the party moving.
In recent years Shock continues to rinse the crowds and continues the ethic of playing proper, true ruffneck Jungle music from the streets.
